Process returns

Process a return request from a customer by creating a return order and generating a credit note. The balance is automatically offset against outstanding invoices.

When a customer wants to return a product or service, you handle it via the return process. The system creates a credit note and settles the amount automatically.

Processing a return

  1. Open the original order via Orders → [order number].
  2. Click Create return in the action menu on the right.
  3. Select which products are being returned and adjust the quantity if necessary.
  4. Enter the reason for the return (required field for administrative purposes).
  5. Click Confirm return. The system creates a credit note with a negative amount.
  6. The credit note is automatically offset against the customer's outstanding invoice, or paid out if there is no outstanding balance.

The original order will display a Partially returned or Fully returned badge depending on the situation. The full return history can be found on the order detail page.
